The Importance of Snacking

Aside from having three meals a day, snacks are an important part of a healthy diet no matter what the age. 

Benefits of snacks include:
Keeping you energized throughout the day
Providing important nutrients that may be lacking from your diet
An important part of daily eating habits
Help satisfy your hunger between mealtimes & prevent overeating during mealtime

Tips
Prepare snacks in advance and research new ideas to try each week so you do not get bored of eating the same things.
Avoid highly processed foods or products with long ingredient lists.
Be mindful when eating snacks or any meal.

Snack Ideas
Yoghurt with fruit and granola/cereal
Cheese and Crackers with cut up vegetables
Cut up vegetables and Hummus
Homemade Trail Mix
Homemade Muffins
Whole grain bread with peanut butter and banana
