Accreditation Update

Harbour View Haven is proud to be an accredited facility, the first in our area since 2001. During our last onsite survey in March 2020, we were awarded with the highest exemplary standing. Our next survey is only a year away and will be scheduled to take place in March 2024.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is on-going, voluntary process of assessing our services and programs against national standards of excellence to identify what we are doing well and what areas we could improve on. Areas of focus include medication management, resident and staff safety, resident/family satisfaction with programs, services, and meals, falls management, wound care and leadership practices to name a few.

Update of Progress:

Our accreditation teams are continuing to meet regularly to discuss and work on our action plans. Staff surveys to measure perceptions of workplace safety, training and development opportunities, senior management involvement, work/life balance and overall experiences with the organization are on-going. Surveys are voluntary and we appreciate the staff who have taken the time to provide their feedback.

This includes: • Improved sleep patterns • Positive impacts of natural light on mood • Promotes physical movement, social engagement, stress reduction, and opportunities for relaxation • Stimulates positive memories The goals of our sensory garden experiences include providing opportunities for increased relaxation, well-being, and enjoyment of the outdoors!
