Awareness Campaign Update
Hand Hygiene Audits: HVH tracks whether our facility is meeting an acceptable standard of hand hygiene through anonymous observation of the 5 moments for hand hygiene.
Our Hand Hygiene Awareness Campaign is well underway! HVH’s January hand hygiene audit has shown a great improvement with our overall compliance rate. Nationally, the hand hygiene compliance rate is an average of 38.7% across the health care sector. Harbour View Haven is currently at 75% with a goal of 85% for our next audit in the late spring. We will continue to provide coaching and education to all departments, residents, and visitors; working as a collective to reach our goals and continue practicing good hand hygiene.
