African Heritage Month February 2025

The 2025 African Heritage Month theme for Nova Scotia is "Legacy in Action: Celebrating Black Brilliance." This theme highlights the vibrant legacy of Black Nova Scotians and acknowledges this enduring community's significant contributions and resilience. It celebrates collective achievements, the paths created through deep connection with elders, the vital role of storytelling, the dynamics of change, and the importance of reflecting on history while striving for progress.

Nova Scotia is home to 52 historic African Nova Scotian communities, each possessing a rich and intricate history that extends over 200 years.
